Back From Colorado : Game Designs Galore

Just got back in from a week in Boulder, CO tonight. Very fun trip. The good friends and change of scenery did a lot to get the creative juices flowing. Thank you Gina for putting up with me talking about aliens and explosions and mad scientists for a week. The trip was a great way to kick off the change of pace after stamping the 1.0 on the FicEngine. I dipped into code a bit (couldn’t help myself) but other than that all the work I’ve done has been creative in nature.

First, I’ve been working on a coherent universe and writing backstory for it. As much as I hate having story shoved down my throat, I love writing and dreaming up this universe for my games to take place in. I promise I won’t force anything on you guys, but for those that like digging deeper, there will be a lot for you to find. Otherwise, you can just blow shit up and not miss anything. I had some time to curl up with some of H.P. Lovecraft’s best this past week, while Gina was off at work. For an author who is so often referenced in the videogames I love, I haven’t read anything of his until now.

Secondly, I got a lot of design work done on a series of four closely related games.

Yes, I said four (4) games.

Stay tuned to my blog for more info.
