Meeting plan: 2 PM Saturday, February 7, 2004
at Lied Library on UNLV Campus

Hope everyone has had a restful break, I know I have! Now let's see what we can really do with True Western!

Here is the plan for meetings. Saturdays, 2 PM. Also note the new location. I sent directions in my previous e-mail, but here they are again. Check out the UNLV Campus Map and look for building 57. It's in the middle. If you don't have a student parking permit, the Thomas and Mack is a free place to park. There's also metered parking near the student union. You can also park for free across the street, basically at our old Starbucks. Cross the street to the union and go right through it towards the library. What we'll do is meet in the coffee shop right next to the library (just to the left of the entrance, same building) and once all members are accounted for we'll hit the library and grab a meeting room.

Today's meeting will be administrative stuff. We will need some sort of goal and deadline if we want to kick back into high gear. I'm proposing a full design document by E3 in May. Let's go over what exactly will constitute a "full" design document.

Let's also go over our options for web hosting. If we have no ideas for a permanent home for the site, what I will do is move the site to a subdirectory on my personal coxnet account. I plan on putting my personal information, as well as other projects and articles relevant to game design, online, so the True Western Site will be moved to my projects page. Also, if we don't know anyone who can get us a site, we can consider simply going with an ISP and paying for it ourselves. I'll see if I can get a few figures we can work with. Finally, if we keep the site on my personal page, I'll probably have to take down some or all of the movies to make room for the rest of the site I want to put up. The only one I'd still like to leave up is the cinematic- and I may even be able to put up a slightly higher res version since the other three movies won't be taking up space.

Finally, since our requirements will be changing for the project, some of us may want to take on a different role from what we've had. Specifically, the possibility of us coding will require us to trade some roles. Also, it would be wise for us (especially those of us who really want into the game design industry) to each learn some sort of skill or program relevant to what we're doing. For instance, the team programmers would learn DirectX, or Gabe could learn Photoshop. We'll take an inventory of who wants to do what on Saturday. Hope to see you all there.

Vin: "Reminds me of that fellow back home that fell off a ten story building."
Chris: "What about him?"
Vin: "Well, as he was falling people on each floor kept hearing him say, 'So far, so good.'"
